Identity Theft Hurts:   An overview of identity theft and steps residents can take to guard against the criminals.  Information in the brochure includes what to do if you are a victim and contact numbers for the credit reporting agencies.  The brochure also includes the web site and phone number for the free credit reports now available to all residents in Delaware.  (Available in English and Spanish)

The A to Z's of Mortgage Loans:  Reviews first steps you should take when applying for a mortgage from understanding state and local programs available to first time home buyers to shopping around for the best rate.  Definitions in the brochure cover items all home buyers should understand including points, APR and prepayment penalties.   Information on predatory lending, discrimination and foreclosures is also in the brochure.  (Available in English and Spanish)

Do You Need to Borrow Money: This brochure was produced by our office in partnership witht he Office of Delaware's Attorney General.  Payday lending, car title lending, check cashing fees and high cost mortgages are the topics covered in this brochure.  (Available in English and Spanish)

 Don't Borrow Trouble:  This brochure produced in partnership with the Attorney General's Office and originates from the City of Boston with assistance from Freddie Mac covers predatory lending and helps residents avoid lending scams.  Contact information for housing counselors across the state is included.   (Available in English and  Spanish)

Stop Think and Click - Provided by the FTC (www.ftc.gov) and other Federal Agencies and Industry leaders to assist in the education of computer technology and Internet safety.   Steps you can take to secure your computer and protect your personal information is included in the brochure.  Information on phishing, spyware, hackers, viruses, firewalls and spam is included as well as a new site for consumers - onguardonline.gov   (Available in English and Spanish)
